I don't understand why the SC can make a decision by the rule of the majority. (What is this, an election? Hahaha!) I thought all convictions should be made beyond reasonable doubt? This is what happens when we apply foreign judicial systems (to uphold our colonial mentality whatsoever, LOL), but decide to tweak a few things just to make it relate-able to our, say, customs and penchant for shiny objects. Our judicial system does not even admit the modern lie detector test (the neurometric lie-detector), even if not entirely for the purpose of conviction. All our cases are won by witness testimonies based on affidavits that can be changed anytime.

Is the customer always right?
In school we were taught that the customer is always right. And true enough, I uphold this principle to the best that I can. That is, even with the odds that come in doing so. --Because the real world is not so similar, and our consumer laws are just for show.

The Human Enterprise
If the Bureau of Customs were not corrupt, companies would not have to increase the cost of goods. If the Bureau of Internal Revenues were not corrupt, government would not have to impose additional taxes to subsidize for lost potential revenues. If the Military and police were not corrupt, government would not have to increase the percentage tax of corporations and companies, thereby increasing the prices of necessities. If the LGU were not corrupt we would not have to suffer oligarchical monopolies and most of us would be enjoying higher-paying jobs. If DPWH were not corrupt, there would be more developments, lesser expenses, lesser tax, better trade, lesser cost of produce, easier commute.

Are you buying the product, or the brand?
Now that the holiday season is here, people are scampering about buying gifts for loved-ones. And very so often I see these women strolling around the malls with their huge-ass purchases and their equally huge-ass price-tags. Apple, Gucci, Giordano, to name few. As much as I'd hate to be the antagonist on my very first post since a long hiatus, I am compelled to say these people are really just buying the brand logo!

Tastless Willie R. is tasteless!
(Note: This post has been republished from last year.)
You can tell that the country is already nipple-deep in shit when the masses can no longer distinguish forced child labor from a talent skit. Yes, I refer to the Jan-jan incident whose parents went rooting on for Willie Revillame (WR) after he (allegedly) abused their son.
